To say that we're currently up to our eyeballs in cuteness would be a massive understatement! Just to give you a smidge of an idea of what we're working feverishly on, here's a tiny glimpse at what the definition of PRECIOUS truly is... #lovethem

FAMILY PREVIEW: the M family

Here's one of the most easy-going, down-to-earth families we've had the privilege of photographing.  All the kids came equipped with boots on their feet, smiles on their faces, and solid senses of humor --- definitely a family after our own hearts!  

Mom & Dad M have been blessed with some great children, and have taught them to appreciate the value of a hard day's work.  As a result these kids aren't afraid to jump into the pool of life, BOTH feet-first.  Each one has a well-planned future ahead of them, from careers to college to military service, and have practical, yet optimistic outlooks.  What a treat to hear all the details of the places they've been & to see where they're all headed.

Thank you to the M's, the session was literally our pleasure!

FAMILY PREVIEW: the R family

When looking up the definition for "salt of the earth",
one would most certainly find a picture of the R family! 

This is the second time we've had the pleasure of shooting a couple of their girls; 

both times have been charming.  Now, from a mathematical standpoint, if two R's are really fun to hang out with, then FIVE R's + an easy-going Torie should be a splendid adventure... 

(Considering two of the group traveled all the way up from Missouri just for our photo shoot, made the adventure that much greater! 
...Okay, okay - so maybe not JUST for the shoot, but  still you can bet it had great potential to be pretty tremendous!)

...And on this particular bright & sunny day, Ladies & gentlemen, they did not disappoint! 

Besides being pretty laid-back, their greatest asset is they know full-well how to laugh together, in every circumstance. It makes them an easy family to adore. One family member may be the brunt of some teasing before the focus shifts to someone else, however within milliseconds following the laugh, they are throwing their arms around one another. 

Let it be known that the family who laughs together, stays together. 

The R family is our proof! 

May all that the future holds for them be filled with blessings & continued joy. 

FAMILY PREVIEW: shaw family

It's hard not to simply adore this family, as they feel like an extension of our family! 

 We've known the Shaws for most of our lives, and we were tickled to be able to squeeze in a mini-family shoot while all the kids & grand-kids were in town visiting last week. Considering it was 8am on a Saturday morning, I'd say the grand-kids did exceptionally well!  To see the Shaws altogether is refreshing. To have learned by their strong examples has been inspiring.
It was an honor to spend even a few moments with them!

FAMILY PREVIEW: evans family

Spent another splendid afternoon with the Evans family, minus one family member, plus two extra family members! If you're struggling with the math, all you need to know is that we had a heap of fun, but still missed the one. Laughs were everywhere. Nervous giggles even here & there.  Plus, there were plenty of wiggles to go around. (As you will see, boys will be boys, kids will be kids, & moms will love ALWAYS but still try to embarrass however possible!) But all in all, there was so much love & family unity. They are amazing to us, and their strength inspires us. So grateful that we were able to capture a small moment in their BIG JOURNEY!

We're so excited to have been able to see the Evans family again!  Many great hours, full of laughter, have been shared with them.  Considering that it has been over two years since the last time we captured some memories in our viewfinder, it was long overdue for us to get together.  And my, what a difference 2 short years makes.  The Evans children have gone & grown-up on us!  Still the fun, lovable, beautiful kids they've always been.  Just taller, more mature, and a tad less wiggly than we remember.  The Evans' are the most top-notch family.  

The kind you want to hug & be friends with for forever!

FAMILY PREVIEW: fisher family

What a delightfully fun family the Fishers are!  We love each time we see them.  

They were so warm & gracious in inviting us to their lovely home for their family's session.  And, we must add, that it is a beautifully charming home, indeed.  The Fishers built their home themselves, and the artistry in even the smallest details is impeccable.  To the quaint scenery, add the Fishers' infectious personalities, and we had a splendid time.  Can't wait for our next adventure together!

FAMILY PREVIEW: decoursey family

For someone special's Christmas gift, the D family wanted to give photos.  Therefore they tapped LKP for a frolicking Saturday shoot, complete with 3 new inches of snow on the ground that morning!  What a bunch of cards.  :)  They are by far some of our favorite people.  Thanks for the Saturday snow-eating extravaganza that we won't soon forget, girls!

FAMILY PREVIEW: brennan family

The Brennans and the LKP family go way, waaaaaay back!  Lucky for us we were all able to meet halfway between Salt Lake City and Eastern Washington, in Boise for a weekend of reminiscing + board gaming + a birthday party for the future Dr. Brennan.  Before leaving for home, we made some time that afternoon quick little photo shoot.  Turned out so great, and we can't wait to see them again!

Well, remember Jeremy?  Great kid.  Great ballplayer.  Had a great session with him.  While we were about his photo shoot, we figured we'd sneak in some shots with his family.  Turned out fabulous!  We adore this family.  They're such sweet people.  The kind forever friendships are made from!  What a treat to capture them altogether.

FAMILY PREVIEW: denny family

All our apologies as we neglected to get these on sooner.  Had a mini shoot with the extended Denny Family while all were in town a week & a half ago.  These guys were great, and the kids are so very different in their personalities & movement!  

Just like the most delicious food, all the flavors come together in celebration...yep, pretty much this family in a nutshell.

The Scott family was such a pleasure to spend a misty November morning with.  The girls were up for just about anything, which always makes for great adventures.  Mom & Dad were high school sweethearts, and they're still madly in love with each other.  So great to see how close they are, as it lends hope to the rest of us that happily ever afters are STILL happening!

We always have so much fun with the Evans family.  We decided to head back to the park for some beautiful morning light and time on the jungle gym.  (Can you blame us?)  The weather was perfect, the sky was the most pristine clear blue, and the kids were ready to rock n' roll!

Remember being a kid, and pumping your legs so hard while on the swingset in order to get as high as possible without tipping the set over? And do you remember the exhiliration that came as soon as you snag the thread of courage you had in your chest....just enough to launch yourself from the highest apex of the grandest swing....and then to joyfully descend to the earth in the most epic leap ever known to man? Well, this family is near & dear to our hearts, as it is through their constant support and prodding that LatchKey Photography ever grabbed that thread of courage and took the grandest, most epic leap into existence! Therefore what better way to launch the site than with their family's photo shoot? Our thoughts exactly. So, we snagged all the kids as they were for the day, and scrambled to the nearest park so we could make the most of what was left of that afternoon's lazy autumn sun. Here we proudly present: the fruits of our labors...and our play!  :)
