Eastern WA Photographer | Getting Educated

Have been spending what little spare time we've had continuing our education.  Today's workshop involved making the best out of the worst lighting situations.  Eastern WA is known for the desert it is.  With that comes the high afternoon sun typically depicted in western cartoons...only no buzzards here.  Shooting in that kind of lighting is not the most ideal.  But we can't always hide out indoors until the perfect light comes.  Too much of life would pass us by!  This is why we've really loved this workshop -- many thanks to Lindsay Adler, Erik Valind for their book & the CL folks for bringing it altogether online.

One of our favorite techniques from the workshop resulted in the adorable images below of our assistant. This was shot at 1:16 pm PST, with the sun directly hung high overhead.  Normally this would be an impossible task for us, until now. We're extremely grateful for those who share knowledge, like Lindsay & Erik, and help others grow in the process.

If you're on FB and wouldn't mind tossing a vote our direction for this image, we'd appreciate it!  http://woobox.com/pmjhwb/vote/for/1107992

Thank you & make today a good one!

miss jr & miss dc

Spent a school holiday tromping through the brush, and paintballed school ruins nearby with two adorable girls.  BFF's since 2nd grade, they've got history that's for sure.  Which is always delightful since there wasn't a dull moment, a pause, or lack of giggling the entire shoot!  Made for some great images, and wonderful memories that will hopefully help carry their friendship on throughout the coming high school years.  Thanks girls for making the most of some irritating bugs, uncomfortable weeds, awkward pedestrians, and poor cell reception!

WORKSHOP: corinn

Yet another successful workshop down, and some beautiful images to show for it. :) Corinn's got the most refreshing personality, and was so go-with-the-flow despite the FREEZING temps that day. Extra thanks and mad-props go out to her for being a breeze to work with!  Thank-ya kindly, sweets.

WORKSHOP: majesta

Majesta is a natural.  That's just all there is to it.  She knows how to move, and how to make the most overlooked details so chic, and so worth capturing!  Thanks to Majesta, for being willing to freeze her tail off with the rest of us mere mortals during workshop.  Girl, you're a gem!

WORKSHOP: courtney

Courtney's one of the funniest, most sweet & genuine gals we've had the pleasure of shooting during Workshop.  She's always great with her supermodel good looks, and dazzling when she smiles.  Our favorite moments are the ones she doesn't intend for the camera to capture.  Those are the best!
